The Road to Heaven The Bible gives us the one true way to heaven. In the book of Romans in the Bible, it tells us the road that leads to heaven.
The road begins with Romans 1:16: “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation of everyone who believes.” To be able to go to heaven you must first recognize that it is only possible by the power of God.
The reason we need God’s power is because we have a problem called sin. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. “Sin” means to come short of what God intends for us. It means we have chosen our own way instead of God’s way.
If we follow our own road it leads to death, “for the wages of sin is death” Romans 6:23. That not only means physical death but it means we are separated from God for eternity.
The good news is that God has provided a way for us to get on the right road. In Romans 5:8 the Bible says, “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus took your payment of death.
God loves you so much He paid for your sin and offers you the gift of eternal life.
The way to receive that gift is found in Romans 10:9: “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” To confess “Jesus is Lord” means that you agree with God about your sin and that you need to be saved. You must be willing to turn away from the direction you are going and turn to Jesus.
To “believe in your heart” is to place your faith in Jesus, trusting that He died on the cross to pay for your sins.
If you would like to have salvation in Jesus Christ, sincerely pray and ask Jesus into your life. Sincerely pray a prayer similar to the following: “Dear God, I know I am a sinner and have rebelled against You in many ways. I believe Jesus died for my sin. I now turn from my sin and ask Jesus to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. From this day forward, I will choose to follow Jesus. Thank You, Lord, for loving me and for forgiving me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen”
